The Ryder Cup 2023 Rome will be played from 25th September to 1st October 2023 at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, on one of its 2 golf courses, the Championship Course.

Where is Ryder Cup 2023 played?

The Ryder Cup 2023 Rome will be played at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, one of Italy’s finest golf clubs.

Founded in 1989, it was designed by Jim Fazio and David Mezzacane. It is located in the town of Guidonia, 17 km from Rome.

Ryder Cup Winners

The Ryder Cup has been played since 1927. In its first 19 editions, the United States and Great Britain played against each other, with the Americans winning 15-3 and the Americans drawing once. In 1973, 1975 and 1979, the American team played against the British and Irish, in these 3 editions the Americans were victorious. It was in 1979 that the current team formation was established, USA vs. Europe, with 9 wins for the Americans and 11 for the Europeans, and one draw. The overall record of the competition in its 43 editions is 27 victories for the Americans and 14 for the Europeans, and two draws.

Traditionally, the Ryder Cup has always been played in the British Isles when it was held in Europe, but in recent years it has alternated with other countries, such as Spain and France. In 1997 the Ryder Cup was held for the first time outside the UK.

The 32nd edition was held at the Real Club Valderrama and Severiano Ballesteros was the driving force behind the Ryder Cup being played in Spain and had an outstanding participation as captain, he is recognised by experts as one of the best captains in the history of the Ryder Cup.
